Chinchali’s realization was personal. During his graduate studies, he recorded his own commutes to isolate rare interactions, such as encounters with prototype Waymo vehicles. “This experience made it clear that unique datasets could be intellectual property in their own right,” he recalls.

To mobilize global participation in data sharing, Chinchali stresses the importance of fair valuation and reward systems. Using crypto-economics for equitable compensation, Poseidon aims to transform data into a monetizable asset, encouraging diverse contributions.
