# Bitcoin to Surpass $200,000 by End of 2025, Predicts Standard Chartered's Geoff Kendrick
**By Changhwan Choi, Block Media**
Standard Chartered's (SC) Head of Digital Asset Research, Geoff Kendrick, forecasts that Bitcoin will break the $200,000 mark by the end of 2025, expressing confidence in its long-term upward potential despite recent price declines.
According to The Block on the 11th (local time), Kendrick analyzed that "the recent drop in Bitcoin's price is not due to issues within the cryptocurrency itself, but rather related to the broader downturn in the risk asset market." He noted, "The current Bitcoin market is being driven by sentiment," identifying catalysts for price recovery such as a rebound in risk assets and positive news, including Bitcoin purchases by countries like the United States.
He particularly highlighted that "regulatory clarity in the United States and a rate cut by the Federal Reserve could propel Bitcoin's price rebound." Kendrick also emphasized that short-term market volatility could actually increase the likelihood of a Federal Reserve rate cut, potentially having a positive long-term effect.
Remaining steadfast in his outlook despite short-term price fluctuations, Kendrick maintains his prediction that Bitcoin will exceed $200,000 by the end of 2025.
