# XRP Ledger Recognized by World Economic Forum as a Crucial Asset Tokenization Technology
On the 27th, Crypto Times reported that the World Economic Forum (WEF) acknowledged the XRP Ledger (XRPL) as one of the most significant technologies for worldwide asset tokenization. This recognition has significantly boosted investor interest in XRP over other cryptocurrencies. However, it’s essential to note that Ripple's XRP Ledger and the XRP(XRP) coin are different entities.
In the WEF's May 2025 report titled “Asset Tokenization in Financial Markets,” it highlighted the initiation of the world’s first $1 billion private equity and debt tokenization fund based on XRPL. Launched by Aurum Equity Partners, this fund underscores innovative use cases for XRPL technology.
# XRPL Powers $1 Billion Tokenization Fund
Aurum Equity's fund leverages XRPL's decentralized Layer-1 blockchain technology to digitize ownership of private funds. Originally announced in October 2024, this fund aims to support data centers utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and those with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. Its key markets include the U.S., the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, and Europe.
# Zoniqx Platform and DyCIST Protocol Integration
The fund is powered by Zoniqx's tokenized asset lifecycle management platform and the DyCIST protocol, ensuring asset security and transaction efficiency. XRPL's transaction security, speed, and low costs make it ideal for such digital funds.
The WEF report also praised Ripple’s cryptocurrency management technology, placing it among leaders like BitGo and Metaco. Ripple’s recent acquisition of Metaco emphasizes its commitment to securing digital assets and assisting financial institutions with regulatory compliance, establishing them as key players in the growing tokenized economy.
# XRPL as a Foundation in the Tokenized Economy
The WEF predicts the global private equity market to increase from $5.3 trillion in 2023 to $7 trillion by 2030, with around 10% likely to be tokenized. XRPL’s $1 billion fund tokenization serves as a benchmark for other companies and market participants.
Earlier this year, Ripple collaborated with Ondo Finance to launch tokenized U.S. Treasury bond funds on XRPL. Supported by BlackRock's BUIDL fund, this initiative offers secure and regulatory-compliant investment opportunities in government bonds through blockchain.
A recent Ripple and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) study projects the market for tokenized real-world assets to grow from $600 billion in 2023 to $18.9 trillion by 2033, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 53%. XRPL is set to play a crucial role in driving growth within this rapidly expanding tokenization economy.
