  • GenLayer mainnet launching in December with AI-powered protocol for human and agent disputes
  • Beta system already processes 12,000 cases a day and partners with major crypto networks

On November 3, 2026 (UTC), Cointelegraph reported that GenLayer will launch its mainnet in December, introducing the “Internet Court”—a protocol where juries of diverse AI models decide disputes between humans and digital agents. Currently in beta, GenLayer handles around 12,000 disputes every day.

The protocol features a process called “Optimistic Democracy.” Each case initially goes to a random jury of five AI validators, drawn from large-language-model families such as Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT. If parties contest the verdict, GenLayer escalates the dispute to larger juries, with as many as 1,500 AI models involved. Funds from contracts stay in escrow until the AI jury verifies that the agreement’s terms have been met.

GenLayer advances “intelligent contracts,” which use subjective reasoning across language, code, images, and live web data. Unlike traditional smart contracts, these tools rapidly resolve ambiguous disputes. Use cases include image content validation, automating decisions in DAOs, settling prediction market outcomes, and facilitating transactions between autonomous digital agents.

ZKsync, NEAR, Consensys, UMA, and OKX are joining GenLayer as consortium members or planning integrations, signaling support across major crypto networks. The protocol is expected to impact blockchain governance, agent-based markets, and smart contract development.

Challenges persist, including the reliability and contextual awareness of AI jurors. Experts note concerns about model bias and the risk that consensus may reduce decision diversity. GenLayer allows appeals to external dispute systems such as Kleros or UMA, and parties may ultimately seek human court review if needed.

As of November 3, 2026, 04:09 UTC, ZKsync (ZK) trades at $0.01 (-4.91 percent change), THORChain (RUNE) at $0.556 (+10.65 percent), and NEAR Protocol (NEAR) at $3.818 (-10.72 percent).
