  • AMD projects continued growth after $8.2B World Labs acquisition

On November 4, 2026 (UTC), CoinDesk reported that AMD posted third-quarter financial results that beat Wall Street forecasts, driven by a 97% jump in data center sales supported by strong AI infrastructure demand. Revenue climbed 45% year-over-year to $13.38 billion, exceeding analyst expectations of $13.09 billion. Earnings per share reached $2.09, also above the consensus estimate of $1.95.

AMD’s data center revenue surged 97%, now accounting for 64% of total company revenue, up from 47% a year ago. Growth stemmed from major partnerships with Meta, Microsoft, and Anthropic, the launch of Helios server systems, and the expansion of virtual agent platforms. These results highlight AMD’s expanding role in powering enterprise AI technologies.

In contrast, the PC and gaming segment continued to decline, with PC sales down 8% and gaming sales dropping 40% year-over-year. The global PC slowdown and component cost pressures contributed to weaker performance in these areas.

AMD announced an $8.2 billion all-stock deal to acquire World Labs, an AI simulation and robotics company. This move marks a broader push into AI infrastructure and robotics platforms, expanding AMD’s focus beyond semiconductors. CEO Lisa Su described increased supply chain capacity and advanced procurement activity, predicting continued strength for AI-driven sales in 2027. Despite tight chip supplies and margin pressures, AMD’s stock climbed 7% in after-hours trading as investors responded to robust AI results and the positive outlook.
