  • Altura postpones final DeFi user redemptions as bank freezes £16.4M payout account
  • Bank restrictions disrupt final vault payouts, making timelines dependent on internal review

On July 29, 2026, Cryptopolitan reported that Altura’s £16.4 million redemption account was frozen by its bank, stalling final decentralized finance (DeFi) payouts to users. Altura had earmarked these funds for the last round of vault redemptions before the unexpected freeze immediately halted user distributions.

The payout delay follows a months-long wind-down of the protocol, prompted by high withdrawal volumes and ongoing stress in the stablecoin market. Although Altura secured £16.4 million for over-the-counter conversion to USDT to complete the redemptions, the process is now fully subject to the bank’s internal review and the timeline for lifting account restrictions.

Altura emphasized that it has no exposure to other troubled DeFi protocols. The company stated that the only remaining step before completing user redemptions is the bank’s decision to release the frozen funds.
