# Biometric Crypto Project World Unveils Build Latam Program in Argentina to Foster Innovation
According to recent Bitcoin.com reports dated October 30, the biometric cryptocurrency and ID project World has launched its Build Latam program in Argentina. This new initiative is designed to drive technological innovation and enhance the utilization of the project's services throughout Latin America. Martín Mazza, regional manager for Tools for Humanity in Latin America, detailed newly introduced security protocols aimed at safeguarding user data.
The Build Latam program represents World’s latest strategy to extend its presence in the region, even in the face of resistance from certain South American governments. Officially inaugurated in Argentina, the program seeks to advance technological innovation by supporting 15 projects with a combined allocation of one million WLD tokens. Argentina is a key player in the World protocol, with over 2.2 million users already having verified their identities via iris-scanning technology.
Mazza mentioned that beginning in October, the program has enhanced user data security through its Anonymous Multi-Party Computation (AMPC) protocol. This protocol ensures user anonymity while distributing data storage across various institutions. “It’s like splitting a seed phrase and storing the parts across different university databases,” Mazza explained.
World clarified that it does not provide cash rewards for identity verification. Instead, users are rewarded in its native token, Worldcoin (WLD). According to Mazza, WLD tokens allow users to participate in the network, share in its value, and engage in governance decisions.
The Build Latam initiative highlights the project's dedication to fostering innovation and strengthening its foothold in the Latin American market, despite regulatory challenges.
