According to BeInCrypto on October 13, asset management firm Grayscale recently conducted a survey to analyze cryptocurrency investment trends among HNWIs in the U.S. with investable assets exceeding $1 million. The survey revealed that 26% of respondents already own cryptocurrencies, while 38% are considering making investments in the future. The survey polled 5,368 American adults, all of whom had participated in recent U.S. elections. Peter Mintzberg, CEO of Grayscale, stated, “An increasing number of investors are recognizing the value of digital assets,” adding, “It is likely that cryptocurrencies will be included in the investment portfolios of high-net-worth individuals going forward.” The survey highlighted differences in investment motives across age groups. Among respondents aged 50 and older, 78% cited the current economic situation as their reason for investing in cryptocurrencies, reflecting the belief that Bitcoin can serve as a hedge against inflation. Meanwhile, younger investors view cryptocurrencies on par with traditional financial assets. Additionally, 36% of respondents indicated that geopolitical tensions, inflation, and the weakening U.S. dollar are reasons for their heightened focus on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. However, the survey also exposed some limitations in investor perceptions. Approximately half of the respondents expressed that, beyond their investment potential, cryptocurrencies lack practical utility, indicating ongoing skepticism about the technological advancements in the crypto space.
