# BlackRock CEO Larry Fink Warns Trump's Nationalist Economic Policies May Trigger Inflation
New York (By Jaehyung Park) – Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has issued a warning that President Donald Trump’s new nationalist economic policies could potentially lead to inflation.
# Rising Costs in the Next 6-9 Months
Speaking at S&P Global’s CERAWeek energy market conference, Fink remarked, “The market is currently underestimating inflation, but over the next 6-9 months, the costs within U.S. industries are poised to rise.” These remarks were reported by Reuters on March 11.
# Tariff Policies May Increase Inflationary Pressures
Fink analyzed that Trump’s anti-immigration policies could reduce the labor supply, thus accelerating inflation. “Will we have enough labor force now? There’s a shortage of electricians for building data centers,” Fink stated. “I have directly raised this issue with Trump’s team,” he added.
Fink also pointed out the economic impact of Trump’s tariff policies. “When discussing these policies in Washington, it is crucial to consider how much of the cost we are willing to bear,” he emphasized.
# BlackRock’s Recent Acquisitions
Fink’s comments come on the heels of BlackRock’s recent acquisition of CK Hutchison, which operates 43 ports in 23 countries, drawing even more attention.
# Bitcoin as a Global Inflation Hedge?
Meanwhile, Fink assessed Bitcoin (BTC) as an inflation hedge asset, noting that its value could rise significantly amid growing global uncertainty.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos earlier this year, he stated, “If there are concerns about a decline in the value of national currencies or economic and political instability, Bitcoin can serve as an international alternative to overcome these challenges.”
The market is keenly watching whether Trump’s economic policies will spur inflation and if Bitcoin will emerge as a new safe-haven asset in response.
