# El Salvador and Paraguay Sign MoU to Enhance Digital Asset Regulation Cooperation El Salvador and Paraguay have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation on digital asset (virtual asset) regulation. According to Cointelegraph on the 10th (local time), the agreement was led by Paraguay's Secretariat for the Prevention of Money or Asset Laundering (SEPRELAD) and El Salvador's National Commission for Digital Assets (CNAD). The MoU includes provisions for enhanced inter-agency cooperation and information exchange in the management, supervision, and regulation of Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP). The CNAD is the body responsible for all digital asset-related regulations within El Salvador. Currently, El Salvador considers the operation of businesses without Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) certification to be illegal. This technology-driven regulatory approach is receiving positive feedback from digital asset companies. Juan Carlos Reyes, Chairman of CNAD, emphasized that El Salvador is expanding international cooperation and enhancing transparency in the digital asset sector. He stated, "This agreement will promote digital industry innovation in both countries while simultaneously strengthening the integrity of the global financial system." Chairman Reyes outlined CNAD's direction for global cooperation, including support for establishing regulatory frameworks in other countries and expanding the global presence of El Salvadoran digital asset firms. Experts are closely watching to see if Paraguay will adopt similar regulatory policies through this agreement. Meanwhile, El Salvador continues its aggressive bitcoin acquisition strategy. On the 9th (local time), the country purchased an additional five bitcoins worth approximately $415,390 (approximately 606 million Korean won), bringing its total holdings to 6,111.18 bitcoins.
