# X (Formerly Twitter) Faces Major Cyberattack, Disrupts Service Temporarily
Social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) experienced a temporary service disruption on the 10th of this month due to a major cyberattack. Users reported issues with loading new posts. Some functionalities, such as saving posts, were not working properly.
Elon Musk took to his X account to confirm the cyberattack, stating, "We experienced a significant cyberattack on X, which is still ongoing. We face attacks every day, but this one involved substantial resources."
Bloomberg previously reported that X had experienced intermittent service disruptions. According to monitoring website Down Detector, over 40,000 users in the United States reported issues with the X service on the day of the attack.
The service disruptions reportedly occurred at least three times, affecting users in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and India, who experienced trouble loading new posts. Each disruption lasted for several minutes.
Although Musk did not disclose specific details or causes of the attack, he mentioned that X is actively responding to resolve the issues.
