# Binance Co-Founder CZ Calls for Long-Term Investment, Criticizes Short-Term Gains Focus
Binance Co-Founder Changpeng "CZ" Zhao emphasized the need for investors to focus on reliable, long-term projects rather than chasing short-term gains in the digital asset market.
On March 9, CZ highlighted on X (formerly Twitter) that investors pursuing quick profits have incurred substantial losses. "Invest in sustainable and trustworthy projects rather than chasing temporary trends,” he stated. “Patience and time are required to achieve significant profits."
Unpopular opinion:
In crypto, too much money is spent chasing small, quick gains. Focus on ethical teams that build for the long term. Big money is built slowly with stamina.

The digital asset market has been plagued by frequent “rug pulls,” a scam where project developers vanish after collecting investments. Experts warn that uninformed, trend-driven token purchases aimed at short-term profits exacerbate these losses, an investment behavior known as “degen.”
CZ pointed out that reckless investment in low market cap tokens and meme coins is a significant issue. To prevent rug pulls, he proposed an improvement to tokenomics, the economic structure, and distribution method of digital assets. He suggested initially circulating only 10% of the total tokens, with an additional 5% unlocked every six months. Furthermore, he advocated for additional circulation to be allowed only if the token’s price doubles and remains stable for over 30 days from the unlock point.
Additionally, CZ addressed the problem of bots disrupting the digital asset market on X. Bots on social networking services (SNS) spread fraudulent advertisements and posts, harming investors. He urged Elon Musk, who owns X, to ban bot accounts to protect the digital asset market.
