# Story Unveils IP Portal Public Preview to Revolutionize IP Management Story ($IP) launched the public preview of its groundbreaking IP Portal on March 8, aiming to revolutionize intellectual property (IP) management and utilization. The platform is designed for creators and businesses to register IPs, set licensing terms, and clarify consent for AI training. Through this initiative, Story aims to enhance the visibility and usability of IPs while contributing to the global creator economy. # "GitHub for IP": Story’s New Portal Much like GitHub enabled software code collaboration, Story's IP Portal allows creators to systematically register, publish, and clearly set licensing terms for their IPs. During the online space event commemorating the public preview launch, Story's product and design team outlined the platform's key features and vision. Gardo, Story's Project Manager, who led the development, stated, "Traditional IP registration systems are slow, inefficient, and challenging to apply globally." He emphasized, "The Story IP Portal is designed for immediate and transparent IP management through on-chain (blockchain) registration." He added, "This platform will create a new economic model that enhances the value of IP." # All-in-One Solution for IP Registration and Licensing The core features of the Story IP Portal include IP registration, licensing terms setting, and AI training data usage determination. Brandon, another Project Manager at Story, explained, "Through the IP Portal, creators can register various types of IPs, including images, videos, audio, and AI agents. The registered IPs are managed on-chain, where users can clearly specify conditions for usage through licensing terms." A particularly noteworthy feature is the OPT-IN function for AI training consent, which plays a crucial role in increasing transparency around AI training data usage. Creators can directly choose whether to allow their IPs to be used for AI model training, enabling AI companies to legally assess data usage based on those decisions. # Pioneering a New IP Economy Paradigm With the launch of the IP Portal, Story plans to introduce additional features such as on-chain royalty management, IP dispute resolution modules, and programmable licenses (PIL). Allen, the Lead Engineer at Story, stated, "We intend to support visual tracking of how registered IPs are utilized on-chain and ensure compatibility with existing legal protection systems through ongoing updates."
